Everyone treats Wallace Wallace like a hero. People congratulate him because he scored the winning touchdown for the football team. In truth, Wallace is a pretty bad player. Aside from the one touchdown, he has never been much but a benchwarmer. Wallace cannot tell a lie. Even when his neighbor asks him if her cake tastes good, he says it tastes "like vacuum cleaner fuzz" because it is the truth. So when his teacher Mr. Fogelman asks him for a review about Old Shep, My Pal, he needs to tell the truth. Wallace hates the book because, in books like that, the dog always dies. As punishment, Mr. Fogelman orders him to be in the play, which is Old Shep, My Pal until he writes a proper review. Wallace stubbornly refuses to praise the book, so the detention drags on for one month. During that time, Wallace begins to change the "unrealistic" play. Soon, the play is hardly recognizable, but better. Just when it is going smoothly, Someone starts sabotaging the play. Who would do it? Wallace suspects one of his teammates, but is he correct? This book made me laugh out loud., and that is not a lie. I recommend this book to anyone who likes funny stories.

I love this book so much! I quickly found interest in this book when I started reading!
I really love this book! When I started reading it, I quickly found interest in it!
Football star Wallace gets lots of attention after making an impossible touchdown and winning the trophy for the team. He belongs in the football club, but detention draws him to the Old Shep, My Pal play. He does not like the book, and he can not let the play get ruined, so he gives suggestions to make the play better. When mysterious attacks start happening on the play, he is blamed and all evidence points against him. He is kicked out from the play, but he really is innocent...
I don't judge a book by it's cover, but I have to be honest: this book wasn't the best. The cover was okay, the book was boring. I don't recommend this book to anyone. Wallace Wallace never lies, so he told his honest opinion of a book he read, and that lands him a spot in a play. A play which Wallace Does NOT want to be in! What will he do?
A humorous story that younger readers will love. After reading, you will definitely wonder: why DOES the dog always die?
Also, I love dogs, so i'm not trying to be rude.
I'm sorry to the people who liked this book, but in my opinion this books story moves slow. It also didn't have those amazing parts where you are like wow or so happy or sad with the event.
The Gordon Korman has the most incredible books in the world. He wrote so many books and they are so incredible. I really wish I had all of his books, I could practicly read all of them in a day. Books are the most awesome thing in the world real.
