Catrina and her family are moving to the coast of Northern California because her little sister, Maya, is sick. Cat isn't happy about leaving her friends for Bahía de la Luna, but Maya has cystic fibrosis and will benefit from the cool, salty air that blows in from the sea. As the girls explore their new home, a neighbor lets them in on a secret: There are ghosts in Bahía de la Luna. Maya is determined to meet one, but Cat wants nothing to do with them. As the time of year when ghosts reunite with their loved ones approaches, Cat must figure out how to put aside her fears for her sister's sake -- and her own.

Raina Telgemeier has masterfully created a moving and insightful story about the power of family and friendship, and how it gives us the courage to do what we never thought possible.

This book is wonderous. I read this whole book in a day, and I was very astonished by it. Maya is my favorite character because she's so enthusiastic and will not give up even when the going gets tough. Cat on the other hand seems to give up easily and get frustrated easily too. I like the way the author really showed the characters personality's in this book. I also love the way the author drew it. The way she drew it was just different from other comics I've read before. The art style is amazing and she actually expresses what the characters are feeling with her drawings which is also amazing. I also really love how in this book, she basically gives her opinion on what happens when you die. The little boy skeleton ghost said, "I don't remember. I was me then I was like this.". That's a good theory. The author also gives every, single, character, a different personality so the book isn't boring. I'd actually like to see a sequel to this book because I would like to dive deeper into these character's personality's. Overall, this is a very great book for all ages. Everyone who reads this WILL enjoy this, I am 100% sure!

I love all her books, they are awesome!

Awsome book. It's really cool because i never really thought that ghosts were real, it was sad because her sister has this problem with breathing. Overall it's really good though!

Ghosts stars Catherine, aka Cat, with her little sister Maya, who has problems with her breathing. Cat finds having Maya as a sister not especially easy, especially with Maya's problems and curious personality with the things around her. The family moving and the Day of the Dead coming closer each day, and a firstly-hated boy with a spooky aura revolving him--Cat must use her inner courage to walk through her complicated life!

Another interesting book I haven't read! I see a bit of foreshadowing when they came across the black cat: Are they going to get bad luck? You can also tell by the title of the book. Sad that the younger sister has a disability, but the older sister seems a little selfish. Overall, I plan to also read this book.
