Beloved Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli, author of Maniac Magee and Wringer, addresses issues of identity, belonging, family, and bullying in this humorous and heartfelt novel about twins.
Jake and Lily are twins. Despite their slightly different interests and temperaments, they feel exactly the same—like two halves of one person. But the year they turn eleven, everything changes. Their parents announce it’s time for separate bedrooms. Jake starts hanging out with a pack of boys on the block. And Lily is devastated, not to mention angry. Who is she without Jake? And as her brother falls under the influence of the neighborhood bully, he also must ask himself—who is the real Jake?
This is an often funny, poignant, and profound story of growing up, growing apart, and the difficult process of figuring out who you really are.

It isnt my fav. book but i do like it i read it for a reading group and i really liked it so i might not have loved it but at least i read it
This book was so addictive and interesting. Every chapter let off as a cliffhanger, and it just made me want to read it more. Jake and Lily both have great personalities that are easy to relate to. Personally, my favorite characters are Sydney and Ernie (Soop). I am a lot like Sydney and Ernie is just a really funny character. You really should read this book, I enjoyed it!
This book is about twins who can feel when the other one is hurt, or when the other one in in danger. They are very close when they are younger, but after their 11th birthday their parents split them up into two rooms, and Jake starts not talking to Lily. Then Lily starts to feel left out. Read to find out if Jake leaves Lily, and hangs out with other kids, or keep Lily as a friend.
I love this book so much! I especially like how the chapters switch from Jake's perspective, to Lily's perspective.
This was a great book. It made me have a lot of questions about what would happen next. You should read it!
