Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

My dad bought me this book when he came back from London. At first, I wasn't appalled by the book. But that was before I read it. Percy narrates his story in a funny and clear way. There is humor, adventure, and happiness until the end. The chapter names made me laugh. For example:"I accidentally vaporize my pre-algebra teacher " Yeah, you got it,go buy this book and follow Annabeth, Percy, and Grover on their quest. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

SPOILER ALERT! This book is my favorite book in the world. Percy Jackson soon discovers he is a half-blood. Then he befriends a daughter of Athena, named Annabeth. Percy, who is a son of Poseidon, goes on a quest with his friends Grover and Annabeth to return Zeus's master bolt and bring peace to Mount Olympus. Great book!

I like reading Percy Jackson. There just so interesting! I just want to keep reading it and reading it! I'm always sad when I finish these books.

No normal humans will ever understand how much I love this book. It's got an amazing story line, amazing characters. And I also like how Rick Riordan has used the greek gods to base his story off something educational and interesting. In the first book Percy finds out he's a half-blood, and especially one of the big three!! He makes friends with a child of Athena named Annabeth. And then goes on his first quest to get catch the lightning theif, because Zeus thinks it was him who stole it. All I must say is I highly reccomend this book for most ages and it wil definately keep you on the edge of your seat.

I totally understand how much you like this book, same for me!

cool book it is

The first book in the Percy Jackson series is actually my favorite. Percy finds out that he is a half-blood and goes to the half-blood camp where he befriends Grover, and satyr, and Annabeth, a daughter of Athena. After they find out that Percy is actually a son of Poseidon, They set off on an impossible quest : To find Zeus’s Master thunder bolt. They face dangerous creatures and people in Greek mythology, but they end up getting the thunder bolt safe and sound and Percy brings it to Zeus. (I would not say where he went to deliver it, there are spoilers if you want to know). I would recommend this book to people to love Greek mythology and adventure.

Percy Jackson lightning thief is about a boy who just begins to learn his powers. He goes on a dangerous journey to reclaim Zeus's lightning bolt. My connection to this would be to Harry Potter book 7, because very often they are stopped and almost getting killed. I give this book a 4 star because it was sorta all over the place but the basics of it was great.

Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is on the most dangerous quest of his life. With the help of a satyr and a daughter of Athena, Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction — Zeus’ master bolt. Along the way, he must face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop him. Most of all, he must come to terms with a father he has never known, and an Oracle that has warned him of betrayal by a friend. I would recommend this book to any one who likes action and a bit of humor.

This book was very interesting and funny

I think this book is super! Full of action and drama! The characters are brave in the book. Anyone who dares to fight Cronus, lord of time, is brave to me.
