Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

This is the beginning to the best book series I've ever read! Percy Jackson is a normal kid. Except for one thing. Percy keeps getting kicked out of school! It turns out that Percy's dad is Poseidon!

Percy Jackson is a normal kid living with his financially struggling mother. Until he's given a pen to fight a winged beast. The pen transforms into a sword and its quite confusing but of course his new best friend whos half goat clears everything up... WAIT WHAT!!! As it turns out Percy is a demigod; and Grover is a satyr. Grover explains that there is a safe place where demigods go called camp half blood and that all Greek mythology is true. Just most people cant see it because of a cloak called the mist. Grover also mentions that being a demigod means that one of Percy's parents is a god. Percy knows its not his mom so that leaves him with a few father options. But there is no way possible it could be Zeus Poseidon or Hades or the big three as there most commonly known. They made a pact not to have any more kids...well... Poseidon broke that rule just a tiny bit. As it turns out Percy is the son of Poseidon and has some remarkable feature's that his dad has too. Of course this upsets some people but it intrigues others. Percy meets Annabeth the daughter of Athena a very smart young girl and Luke the son of Hermes a questionable yet admirable young man. When the oracle a magical mummy tells Percy of a quest he knows he, Annabeth and Grover must stop at nothing to see it through to the very end even if it means destroying an old "friend"

I have read this book many times over. It is what got me to like Greek mythology so much. This book is both funny and adventurous, so it has something for everyone.

Percy Jackson is a normal twelve-year old boy who goes to Yancy Academy, a private school for "troubled kids" . His only friend there is Grover (a kid with a muscular disease in his legs 😉😉) Percy gets in trouble for pushing a classmate and his teacher Mrs. Dobbs takes him to a different room and turns into a SHRIVELED HAG WITH LARGE BAT WINGS!! His other teacher Mr. Brunner throws a PEN to him that turns into a SWORD! and then afterwards everybody tells him Mrs. Dobbs.. Never existed!? *fast forward* after some extremely scary moments for Percy he ends up at Camp Half-Blood with his best friend Grover (who is a satyr!). Camp Half-Blood is a camp for Demigods (daughters and some of GrEeK mYtHoLoGy) so it turns out Percy's dad is Poseidon (🔱) and Zeus thinks Percy stole the master lighting bolt. so Percy, Grover and there new friend Annabeth went out on a quest with all odds against them and go to (try) save the world! Recommended to 12+ (highly recommended because this series is AMAZ) Thanks for reading -Ajg16's reviews

This book was really good and me and my friend were crazy about it! The series was really good and I found it very interesting how the author was able to recreate the Greek gods.

I LOVE this book. It is about a boy named Percy Jackson that goes on a quest with his friends Annabeth and Grover. They are out to find out the stolen lightning bolt that belongs to Zeus, or else there is war.

I think that this book is grate.

I think that this was a really great book because the author incorporated a lot about the Greek gods and how Percy Jacksonn went on a quest. I love that there is a twist at the end with someone Percy thought to be his friend betrayed him.

This book is GREAT, because this is a really good adventure book, and I LOVE adventure! Also, this book taught me LOTS (And I mean it) about Greek mythology.

It's an excellent book about a twelve-year-old boy who finds out that he is a demigod half man half god. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is into action books.
