The New York Times bestselling Wings of Fire saga soars to the mysterious land of the NightWings, where Starflight must face a terrible choice -- his tribe, or his friends?

In the shadows, trouble is brewing. . .

The mysterious NightWings keep everything hidden, from their home and their queen to their allegiance in the war. Now they've kidnapped their own dragonet of destiny, and Starflight is finally meeting the rest of his tribe -- whether he wants to or not.

The NightWings have also kidnapped several innocent RainWings, now trapped in the dark, barren, miserable place that is the NightWing kingdom. Starflight wants to help the RainWings, but he's busy saving his own scales and trying to find a way back to his friends. The fate of two kingdoms rests in his talons, and with no one to save him, Starflight will have to find a way to be brave . . . before it's too late.

This is finally the book that will tells you all the secrets Nightwings have kept hidden. They had now kidnapped their dragonets of destiny, and Starflight is finally meeting the rest of his tribes. The Nightwings have also kidnapped several innocent Rainwings, now trapped in the dark, under their claws. Starflight wants to save the Rainwings, but he is busy planning for escaping. The fate of two kingdom rests in his talons, and with no one saving him, he had to be brave. If I was Starflight, I would definitely be terrified as well, but I will do anything to rescue my friends and end the war. “ Be brave, and do your best! “ Starflight’s friends told him … before it’s too late …

Starflight is brought to the hidden kingdom of the Nightwings, but he soon realizes all the secrets of the mysterious tribe. I liked how when Starflight and the alternative Nightwing, Fatespeaker, went to find and speak to the queen of the Nightwings who hasn't spoke to anyone in over 10 years. The lack of bravery that Starflight usually has was overcome by his determination of finding out why the queen never speaks in person but through her daughter, Greatness.

The Dark Secret, book 4 of the Wings of Fire series, is a book about five dragonets of destiny to end the 20 year war. One of the five dragonets, a Nightwing, is captured by his own tribe and it is his responsibility to stop the Nightwings who captured the Rainwings. The Nightwing, Starflight, has to stop a raid from the Nightwings to attack the Rainwing tribe. Starflight does not have much time to stop the raid so he has to be smart and brave to save the Rainwings. This book is a 5th grade level book. I recommend the ages of 10-12 to read this book. This book is a fantasy about adventure and the author is Tui T. Sutherland.
