The Greatest Treasure Hunt in History: The Story of the Monuments Men (Scholastic Focus)

The Greatest Treasure Hunt in History: The Story of the Monuments Men (Scholastic Focus)

By Robert M. Edsel

If you like action and informational books than this book would be for you! It is about WWll and describing how Hitler and the Nazis were stealing important art masterpieces. I made a connection to this book from the world. WWll was a real thing and I read about it all the time. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who is into war or action.

Bartimaeus: The Ring of Solomon (A Bartimaeus Novel)

By Jonathan Stroud

I love Bartimaeus' snarky comments. he always makes me laugh! I recommend you read this book in your free time. I was recommended to read it by the superintendent of the archdiocese of Chicago. Yes, you read that right! I hope you have a very good time reading this book!

A Good Day for Climbing Trees

A Good Day for Climbing Trees

By Jaco Jacobs

It was weird at first but more interesting when you got deeper into the book and another cool feature about it is that it had a very heart-touching meaning but in the end it was very funny.

Ashes

Ashes

By Ilsa J. Bick

It's end of the world but still lovable. It's 465 pages long, so pretty short, it's similar but not the same as The Enemy series. I finished it a few months ago but forgot to update. I enjoyed it, and think it's a cliff hanger. I went to read book two but it follows other people and we have no idea what happens! I still want to find book two and get a chance to finish it. I think you should read it. My sister thinks it weird, but I think it is pretty cool. Reply if you think weird or cool.

Maximum Ride Forever

Maximum Ride Forever

By James Patterson

I would love to be able to fly! My favourite characters are Angel, Max, and then little baby Phoenix at the end. The flock are awesome. I think James Patterson is a great author and I want to be like him when I grow up. Angels powers are my favourite by far. Imagine being able to read minds!🕊

George and Harold's Epic Comix Collection Vol. 1 (Epic Tales of Captain Underpants TV)

George and Harold's Epic Comix Collection Vol. 1 (Epic Tales of Captain Underpants TV)

By Meredith Rusu

This book has every comic George and Harold made from the first 2 seasons. It has mostly narrations, but is a decent book if you like George and Harold's comics.

Bleach (3-in-1 Edition), Vol. 1: Includes vols. 1, 2 & 3

Bleach (3-in-1 Edition), Vol. 1: Includes vols. 1, 2 & 3

By Tite Kubo

I haven't actually read the whole series, but I'm really hoping to. I've watched the anime (the tv version) with English subtitles, and I can't even tell you how much I recommend it. Bleach is really deep. Besides an awesome plot, fun and interesting (and attractive) characters, Bleach has a lot to learn from. It taught me many things, like respect, and how no one's strong enough to deal with everything on their own, and somehow when we lean on each other a little and all try to help each other out, we become stronger. Most importantly of all, it made me realize how important it is to listen to your feelings. They're important, and they're there for a reason, but of course you need to use logic to decide your actions as well. Bleach somehow helped me find the right balance of that, and I can't thank the author, the series, and the people who made it into an anime enough!

Momotaro Xander and the Lost Island of Monsters

Momotaro Xander and the Lost Island of Monsters

By Margaret Dilloway

Xander Miyamoto usually spends his time drawing comics while his sixth grade teacher lectures about world problems, and creating computer programs at home. He likes nothing better than when the dismissal bell rings, and get away from bullies like Lovey who won't leave him alone for being half Asian. At the start of Spring Break, Xander and his best friend Peyton are playing computer games when Xander's father interrupts and gives them a comic book about a samurai warrior. But then when there's an earthquake, and a giant flood, the kids find out the comic is real. Xander and his family are part of an ancient line dedicated to protecting the world. And when Xander's dad disappears in the flood, Xander's grandmother tells them of his legacy. So Xander and Peyton, along with Inu, Xander's dog, must set off on the adventure of a lifetime in order to save his father, and the rest of the world from unimaginable monsters and destruction. And Xander must do this while trying to figure out what his powers are, and if he really belongs in this adventure. I really liked in this book that a lot of Japanese culture is part of the story, and you learn a lot. I recommend this book to adventure book lovers. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Kalahari

Kalahari

By Jessica Khoury

This is the best book!!! A girl named Sarah lives with her dad and a bushman that is a good friend. Sarah and her dad are hosting a safari when Sarah's dad and the bushman see some mysterious people. They go off and Sarah is left to look after the 5 teens. After a couple of days, They don't see Sarah's father and go out looking for him. When the group is in the middle of the desert, they all see a lion. It appears to be white at first... Then Sarah notices that the lion is silver. After seeing the mystifying yet dangerous creature more than once, they become suspicious. Especially after they see some men destroying all Sarah Has left of her mother. Read the rest to see if they can stop the deadly virus and if Sarah ever finds her dad. I rated this book 5 stars because it was full of action, suspense and at times even a little romance! I totally recommend this book and found it because it was on my school summer reading list. Read the book to see what happens to all of the teens and her father!
