KUBO IS MY HERO!

This book probably deserves way more than 5 stars because it was so good! If you read the Invention of Hugo Cabret or saw the movie - you would absolutely love this book. It follows the lives of three kids: Hannah, Giuseppe, and Frederick, who eventually meet each other and go on an amazing adventure. The backgrounds of these characters really interested me, and all of their motives and ideals really pushed the plot forward. The lessons that all of these characters learned by the end were really valuable, and the plot was sooo good! I totally recommend this book to everyone! Reading this book is such a wild ride that you definitely should take! I am a huge fan of the Ascendance Trilogy and just happened to see that Jennifer Nielsen had another book. I was excited to see what she had in store but was not prepared for this book. This book is chock-full of action and adventure with frighteningly high stakes and an added dash of heartwrenching romance and some insane treachery to top it off!

Digory and Polly meet and become friends on a cold summer day in London. They go on an adventure when Digory's Uncle Andrew, who thinks he is a magician, sends them to somewhere unknown. The friends find themselves in Narnia, a newborn world from the Lion's song, and they encounter Jadis, an evil sorceress from Charn, before they finally return home.

General Komodo has teamed up with bug-eating birds to attack Bug Island. The bugs' underground tunnels have been attacked by poison dart frogs. Max Darwin has a plan-but will his daring plan work?

Max is back at Bug Island with a new problem in store. Spike is missing, and soon Max and his SWAT team has to venture to the heart of the Reptilian Empire!

Karn is a farm boy destined to inherit his father's farm in Norrongard. The funny thing about Karn is that he is more of a gamer than a farmer. Thianna is a half-giant who is too human to fit in with the giants and too giant to fit in with the humans. These two people meet and are swept away on a crazy adventure where they face monsters of all sorts and eventually begin to form a friendship.

Karn is forced to travel to a distant land to save his friend Thianna. To do so he has to learn a new game and solve a riddle. The Mysterious horn of Osius is not as easy to find as it seems. Desstra is a dark elf training to be an Underhand. When Karn and Desstra meet, Karn might just be able to find Desstra a little less dark than she seems.

The Horn of Osius is still out there and Karn and Thianna intend to find it before any power-hungry villains do. Thianna's mother came from the land of Thica. She flew from their gates and is now called a traitor. Karn and Thianna have to find a way to break the rule of the evil Thican Empire. to do so, Karn and Thianna must play the queens game and win.

This is a great story about a boy named Jax whose parents died. He now has to live with an 18 year old guardian named Riley who seems irresponsible to Jax. He falls asleep one Wednesday night and the next day, he wakes up and no one else is awake. He thinks that something is wrong until the next day at school, he realizes that it was Thursday, but how could there have been an extra day? The next day before Thursday but after Wednesday, he accidentally crashes into Riley! He then realizes that he is not the only one experiencing this extra day. Riley tells Jax that they are trying to protect a girl who is a descendent of the magician Merlin who created the 8th day. The girl only appears in the neighbor's house on the extra eighth day. There are people who want to get rid of the eighth day but need the girl, whose name Jax finds out later from herself is Evangeline, to help them get rid of the day. Jax, Riley, and his new friend will need to protect anyone from getting Evangeline and using her to get rid of the eighth day. Will they be able to do it?
