Splatoon, Vol. 1

Splatoon, Vol. 1

By Sankichi Hinodeya

I just loved Splatoon. I felt a weird pulse in my head because I was dying to read this PERFECT book, the very image of manga perfection. Anywho, there is four main characters: Goggles, Specs, Bobble Hat, and Headphones. They are Inklings, squid-like creatures who can turn into their humanoid forms. And there's one thing they're hooked on...TURF WAR!!! You ink a stage and try to splat your opponents.Today they meet Rider, an Inkling who is ranked S, the highest rank in the history of Inkopolis. It takes skill just to get there. But in for a shock, Rider gets beaten by Team Blue. Who is next? Who will possibly beat them to a pulp? Well, you guessed it right! They are going against the someone who they coincidentally hoped NOT to go against: ARMY!!!!!! Army might be harder to beat. He has an echo locator and a manual. But...it is easy to defeat Army, if you analyze him the right way, really. After using curry,Goggles managed to make Army have to work on the unexpected. But he's not the only dude they'll face. Team Green is ready for action. After that, they found out that the leader is an imposter! And he's Aloha, the party animal member of the S4. But with a fight between Goggles and Specs, and arguments in Team Pink, can they all find the right balance and learn to have fun?

Splatoon, Vol. 8 (8)

Splatoon, Vol. 8 (8)

By Sankichi Hinodeya

The Octo Arc continues as Seven, Eight, and their friends battle DJ Octavio. After that, when they go camping and do you know who joins in? Army, cooking irresistible curry!! YUM!! It smells so great that, when Team Blue and Team Eight verse each other in a turf war, team Eight gets distracted! But they know they can up their game in a cinch. Later on in this fantastical bok, it is time for an extra amazing turf war!! Where you where costumes at Wahoo World! Unfortunately this is the most embarrassing place to Rider to be spotted. After bickering with. Aloha for a bit, he decides to join the Team Costume Lover. And lastly, there is Splatfest. Team Blue is going against each other. On team Straight man, there's Skull, Prinz, Specs, and Headphones. On team Funny Man there is Goggles, Bobble Hat, Gloves, and Eight. Who will win, who will lose? Find out in Splatoon volume eight, and continue to read this series! Sankichi Hinodeya needs to write more about the Splatoon characters. And continue on about the adventures of Sheldon and Goggles. But I must say, while book eleven had a cliffhanger, book twelve was a bit of a disappointment. It left us in suspension and honestly, he might not finish this series. But overall, Splatoon is a good graphic novel series for kids who refuse to read chapter books. This is an amazing, sparkling series about friendship and never giving up.

BONE #4: Dragonslayer

BONE #4: Dragonslayer

By Jeff Smith

This book is my favorite of the series. In this book Phony bone gets greedy and tells the townspeople he will be there dragonslayer if they pay him which is a horrible idea because the dragons are harmless.

Ella Enchanted (Newbery Honor Book)

Ella Enchanted (Newbery Honor Book)

By Gail Carson Levine

Based on Cinderella, this story has a big difference. More twists and turns! Ella never wanted to be cursed. Cursed to be obedient, that is. You're probably wanting to know how it started. Well, this gift-giver-lover fairy, Lucinda, gave her it when she was first born. Lucinda didn't know how bad the curse would be. The curse effected the way she acted to Prince Charmont. It gets worse when her mother dies. I totally do not like this part. When I read it, I freaked out. It gets even worse when her father marries Dame Olga. Hattie and Olive, two bossy sisters, become Ella's sister. But at the ball, when Hattie reveals who Ella is, Ella takes off. She was suppose to be ''Lela''. That's because Char was not suppose to know her identity. Suddenly, Char demands to see her, so he lines everyone outside. When he finds Ella, the ordering is extreme. Gail Carson Levine made this book more magical then the original Cinderella. This book totally deserved to win a Newbery Honer.

The Original Adventures #1 (Hank the Cowdog)

The Original Adventures #1 (Hank the Cowdog)

By John R. Erickson

I love Hank the Cow Dog. He's not so bright, but he means well. He takes his job seriously and bumbles around and saves the day. Read it with a hick accent - which isn't hard for me to do. Hank is my hero.

The 52-Story Treehouse (The Treehouse Books)

The 52-Story Treehouse (The Treehouse Books)

By Andy Griffiths

This was a funny and exciting book. The Vegetable Kingdom was very interesting. This book was written well and the pictures were great too. I liked how the author made the Sleeping Beauty story all over again. It was about Andy and Terry going to a vegetable kingdom trying to find Mr. Big Nose, their publisher. These books were meant to be read. I would recommend them.
