This was about a tadpole. First Louis uncle gave him a tadpole for his birthday. He took it to school to show his classmates. His teacher asked him to bring it every week. The tadpole grew and grew until there was no home for him. Alphonse helped Louis find a pirate treasure they used the money to build a swimming pool. My favorite part in the book was Louis uncle giving him the tadpole for his birthday because I want a Tadpole too. I would not recommend this book because it's too boring.

Steven Kellogg's book The Mysterious Tadpole is full of surprises. When Louis gets a tadpole from his uncle as a birthday present, I'm sure no one imagined what would happen over the next year! Louis is a good friend and caretaker of his "tadpole," who he names Alphonse. Alphonse grows up and they have exciting adventures ~ including getting kicked out of the school's pool and finding a sunken treasure. In addition to the story the pictures in this book were excellent!
