“The Graveyard Book” by Neil Gaiman.This book is a mystery novel that takes place in England, 2008. The main character is Bod (short for nobody). Bod an unusual boy that can see the dead. He lives in a graveyard, he’s the only living person that’s a resident in the graveyard. He was raised by ghosts, as you can assume he developed some odd habits. He goes through many adventures in the graveyard, like getting a headstone for a witch. A man named Jack killed Bod’s family, that’s why he is living in a graveyard. Jack is still out there. Bod needs to stop him if he wants to leave the graveyard. The topics that are in this book are family, friends, spirits and growing up. The theme is that everybody will grow up and move on. “You’re always you, and that don’t change, and you’re always changing, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Bod has many relationships that mean so much to him but he still has to move on. The author does a great job presenting Bod’s emotions. I would highly recommend this book to people who love mystery novels. I would rate this book 5 stars! Growing up is hard, it’s harder when you live in a graveyard. -CMR
