Think the air in your city is a little polluted? Then you may want to consider breathing in some pure air from a can. No, this is not an April Fool's joke, but a real venture started by Chinese businessman and philanthropist, Chen Guangbiao and believe it or not, he has already sold a thousand cans for $0.80 apiece!
Called, Chen Guangbiao: Nice Guy, the cans that are being sold in pop-up stores in some of China's major cities like Shanghai, is collected from the few areas of the country that according to the billionaire, still have unpolluted air. And while canning air may seem like a simple thing, the entrepreneur claims that he has come up with a technologically advanced process to capture it efficiently.
Apparently each can contains a chip so that during the packaging process when the negative oxygen ions reach a certain concentration level and the can is full, it seals automatically. All the user has to do to enjoy the fresh air experience, is snap it open and 'drink' it in - And of course, since the air is compressed inside, it can be enjoyed slowly for a long time, even after the can has been opened!
As you may have guessed by now, the Chinese billionaire, who is donating all the proceeds to the Chinese military, has come up with this rather bizarre business to make a bigger point - Try convince the government to help resolve the severe air pollution issue that is plaguing the country.
But then again bottling water may also have once upon a time been considered a bizarre concept. Today, it is such a normal part of our daily lives that we think nothing of buying gallons and gallons of it. If statistics are to be believed, every 27 hours, Americans consume enough of the bottled liquid to circle the entire equator with plastic bottles stacked end to end.
So the question is, if we all continue to ignore air pollution, will Perri-Air be something that becomes a norm in our shopping baskets - cans of which we will carelessly toss into the garbage once we have 'drunk' it all? What do you think? Be sure to let us know, by adding your comment below.
